UP to ten cops are being investigated over claims they sexually abused kids in scandal-hit Rotherham.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission has been called in to probe the involvement of an undisclosed number of police involved in sex abuse claims - with a top cop further admitting officers were to blame for "significant" failures into the Rotherham scandal.

Genesee County Sheriff announces 11 more GHOST arrests.

FLINT, MI – An additional 11 suspects have been charged and arraigned in the latest operation by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office human trafficking team.

The charges bring the total number of suspects to more than 40 arrested by the Genesee Human Oppression Strike Team, or GHOST, since the group was formed about four months ago.

Federal politician Alasdair Webster has been exposed as the man in charge of a New South Wales government-run home, where an appalling child abuse scandal against defenceless boys allegedly took place decades ago.

In a 60 Minutes exclusive investigation, the 84-year-old politician, who has been honoured with an Order of Australia Medal for his services to politics and education, was last night revealed to have turned a blind eye to the physical and sexual assault that took place at Daruk Boys Home in the 1970s and early 1980s.

The North Wales child abuse scandal was the subject of a three-year, £13 million investigation into the physical and sexual abuse of children in care homes in the counties of Clwyd and Gwynedd, in North Wales, including the Bryn Estyn children's home at Wrexham, between 1974 and 1990.^[1] The report into the scandal, headed by retired High Court judge Sir Ronald Waterhouse QC, which was published in 2000, resulted in changes in policy in England and Wales into how authorities deal with children in care, and to the settling of 140 compensation claims on behalf of victims of child abuse.

In November 2012, new allegations led to the Prime Minister, David Cameron, announcing that a senior independent figure, later named as Mrs Justice Julia Macur, would examine the conduct and remit of the Waterhouse Inquiry. In addition, the Home Secretary, Theresa May, announced a new police inquiry into how the original allegations were dealt with, as well as an investigation of any new allegations. The broadcasting of false allegations on Newsnight on 2 November led to the resignation of the Director-General of the BBC, George Entwistle, eight days later.

Potential jurors in the prosecution of a man accused of fabricating claims about a Westminster VIP paedophile ring have been warned the trial is likely to last several months.

Carl Beech, 51, from Gloucester, is facing 12 counts of perverting the course of justice and one count of fraud in a trial set to open at Newcastle Crown Court this week.

He is accused of making up child sex abuse claims involving former prime minister Edward Heath, ex-home secretary Leon Brittan and other prominent figures in politics, the army, security services and television.

DAVID HARDAKER: Just when it didn't need it, there's been more criticism today of the Victorian Police force and the way it's handled some serious investigations, but this time it's not about the drug squad, the underworld, or police corruption.

Instead, it's the Sexual Crimes Squad that's under fire after an investigation by the Victorian Ombudsman.

His report, which is yet to be made public, has recommended that several child sexual abuse cases be re-opened, and that two officers show cause why they should not be removed.

In 2014, a series of often seemingly intertwining child sex abuse stories have engulfed the UK in what has become the biggest scandal of modern times. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that the whole country feels duped, dirtied, and, worse, connected in some way. Culprits and alleged culprits have included celebrities, the social services and police (whose systemic failures resulted in an estimated 1,400 children being sexually exploited in the town of Rotherham between 1997 and 2013), politicians (the evidence of a pedophile ring operating within the corridors of Westminster during the 1980s is now incontrovertible after London´s Metropolitan Police described allegationsfrom an anonymous survivor as "credible and true" this month), and even employees of the Royal Family (British tabloid the Sunday People recently revealed that the House of Windsor was also implicated in abuses centered around accusations from a 16-year-old boy).

A whistleblower who kicked off UK police pedophile probe Operation Fernbridge believes as many as 40 British MPs and peers were involved in or turned a blind eye to child abuse.

Peter Mckelvie, a retired child protection team manager, who has spent more than 20 years compiling evidence of alleged child abuse by people in authority, believes ten current and former politicians are on the list and that there is enough evidence to arrest at least one senior politician, reports the Daily Telegraph.
