With the upcoming legislative assembly vote that is extremely crucial to the welfare of our children, it is horrifying to find that the Liberal party have pulled blackmail out of their pocket, in order to support Pru Goward and the proposed amendments to the NSW Children and Young Persons Care and Protection Act.
So much for democracy, as Pru Goward got together with Barry O'Farrell and they have called for a "Down the Line" Vote.
This means that if anybody in their party goes against Pru's proposed horrendous legislation, it could mean the end of their political career as they know it.
Sad thing here is that we are aware of quite a few decent ministerial staff who are already all too aware of the corruption within the department, and had high aspirations that they would object to the bill - giving it brings back forced adoptions and encourages places like Barnardo's to go on their kidnapping rampage that started almost a century ago.
Pru Gowards' buddy Louise Voigt seeks to profit immensly from their proposed legislation -- which if we lived in a true democracy, would have no chance of being passed in the lower house, which it seems will probably happen later tonight.
Pulling rank is great when you have powerful friends. It is also understood that Linda Burny is preparing to give a scathing submission on the proposed legislation, but it is alleged that Labour members also has been given the same ultimatum, so after she scathes Gowards legislation, she is going to vote it in.
If secret voting was brought into the lower house, then nobody would be able to bully members that are not in support of bills that are certain to be detrimental to families for generations to come, and this would be democracy.
ICAC must know of these stunts pulled, so one has to wonder why they never step in to prevent this type of corruption that affects the community so much.
It is also interesting to point out that Liberal conveniently dragged this matter, which was listed to be heard this morning, out until tonight, where they voted to continue through the night until the votes done. This means that people will be fatigued, tired, and wanting to just go home, so will not pay as much attention to what they are about to do to the families of NSW - another nice little ploy by Pru Goward.
One thought to leave you pondering on, aren't there fatigue policies everywhere in every workforce, preventing people from making inaccurate and unsafe decisions through being overworked and fatigued? If so, then it should be illegal to allow the members pass any sort of bill - particularly without debate from the other side - which is allegedly what is going to happen also, with another bit of party manipulation.
Passing a bill. No true debate. Fatigued decision makers. Not On. ICAC.
